Great local drives in, around and beyond Sydney…
Sea Cliff Bridge (pictured with my M4) is about 1.5 hours South of Rose Bay for great driving (and photos). Also, Lady Wakehurst Drive down that way.
Palm Beach is about an hour North - use the more scenic Wakehurst Parkway route - OK drive but good, upmarket food, drinks and beach on arrival.
Watson's Bay is just 15 mins East from me - lovely sweeping hill to climb although 50kmh limit, annoyingly.
For faster driving in the Blue Mountains, try Putty Road - high-speed, sealed road with a good mix of sweeping turns and tight sections suitable for performance cars - a scenic, high-speed drive on the western edge of the Sydney Basin.
For spirited driving North from me, try the Old Pacific Highway - Sydney to Gosford - the sections around Cowan, Mount White, and through the National Park offer a mix of bends and straights, particularly the smoother bits between the Hawkesbury River Bridge and Mount White, but beware of heavy weekend traffic, speed traps, and variable road conditions like mossy patches. Focus on the stretch from Hornsby/Cowan up to Calga/Mount White for classic, winding, well-paved sections, while the more remote parts offer wilderness but potentially rougher surfaces.
Ask us for recommendations for longer drives. For example the coastal road to Melbourne is lovely, although considerably longer than the direct route - best to stay a night or two along the way - Berry, Jervis Bay or Mollymook and then Lakes Entrance suit these stops well. Porsche Macan and BMW M4 are suited for interstate hires - but not M2! Can do one-way trips to Brisbane and Melbourne in Macan for extra $900.
PS Frustratingly, our maximum speed limit in Australia is 110kmh, and while my cars are built to go ways faster, our roads sadly are not, so please have fun, but do stay safe and legal.
